Sinbad & The 7 Galaxies is a 2016, British, CG-animated, television series. When Toon-A-Vision began airing it, the title became simplified as Sindbad. It was created by Raja Masilamani. It was produced by either Creative Media Partners or Huhu Studios as the sources are inconsistent. It ran for 26 episodes, but it is uncertain if they're all from one single season or if they're split into multiple seasons.

Plot[]

This series is a reimagining of Sindbad & The 7 Seas. The setting takes place in space, the mode of transportation is a spaceship, and there are seven galaxies to go through rather than seas. Sindbad is the brown-haired, human-looking leader of his crew with the other members being a cyborg named Lee, a shapeshifter named Lana, and an Earthling named Zachary Guthrie. Following school, Sindbad and the others go on missions, travel to other planets to solve problems, and help others in need. They also often have to cancel the nefarious schemes of the villainous Dr. Shiny.

Why It Soars Across The Galaxies[]

  1. The graphics of the CGI art style are top-notch and so is the animation.
  2. The writing is good enough in that it has plenty of originality.
  3. Outstanding and imaginative character designs, especially of the various aliens that Sindbad and his friends meet along the way, even though some of them are animal-like.
  4. Many great characters who stand out from one another while having their likability and memorability.
  5. A stunning, instrumental theme song that is epic in the truest sense.
  6. Nicely performed voice-acting, despite the show being British-produced, most of the voices have American accents.
  7. Dialogue that has plenty of wit.
  8. Some funny moments, such as Dr. Shiny taking pictures of himself with the gold nuggets he took while Cyndi Lauper's "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" plays as the background music in "Top Turtle".
  9. Well-executed and interesting backstories of Sindbad and the team, and how they got together.
  10. Some episodes have environmental themes and messages, like "Trash Day", which emphasizes the importance of not littering other places, let alone planets, and that trash can be recycled, and used for other things, like art.
  11. The recurring gags of some other characters who Sindbad thinks get his name wrong as he corrects them and Lee often over-explaining things.

Bad Qualities[]

  1. Most of the episodes take their time with how they end, but "Hot Water" and the last episode, "Genesis", seem like their endings were rushed.
  2. It ended sooner than it should've.

Trivia[]

  • In "MeTal Magnet", Zachary holds a figurine of Woody from the Toy Story franchise standing on a horse.
